Since you said "ask anything", who is the mage Ken Downey? Will we meet him, or is he dead? (And was he named after a real life friend/ coworker, since the name sounds so human?)

It started here: https://www.facebook.com/timecrestap...2%3A%22R%22%7D
Ken Downey spoke often and regularly to Princess Riley on Twitter, and we were shocked to hear from one of Ken's friends that he had passed away suddenly, last year. We wanted to honor Ken by writing him into the game, after that happened.

Always more questions.
1> one of my (now 3) continues from part one mentions a disease...
was that when the woman was killing the man? Exactly what does the disease do, and how does it affect people?
sorry- I've read so much between the game, the various choices, and this site, I don't remember.
2> How often, if ever, have player theories inspire your writing? Have you ever changed future (Timecrest 3) scene based on a player's suggestion/ theory? Have player theories caused you to see your characters in a different light, and made you change their behaviors?
3> I've always assumed Alyncians and humans appear the same (how else could they go unnoticed?). But what about Valdorians? I know about the tattoos, I thought Riley also has wings . Since they are royalty, no one would think of anything of them looking different.
4> What gave the Valdorians their royalty? Was it simply being descendants of the original elected king, or do they have any powers (magical or otherwise) that ensured their place on the throne?

1) Not going to spoil you on the Valdorian disease. You'll probably hear more about it Timecrest 3. (no promises)
2) We have a pretty solid story spec'd out so generally player theories aren't changing the storyline. We look at what you guys say and sometimes change text to make things clearer if we felt too many people were misunderstanding something in the story. Or it might mean we add scenes to draw more attention to something.
3) Valdorians are just Alyncians who live and belong to the Kingdom of Valdor. Humans and Alyncians do look the same. Riley is special, she has magical wings.
4) Valdor was created by First Mage Ezra 1000 years ago. The Kingdom survived until (nearly) present day, before someone destroyed it.

Either way, I'm satisfied playing the first 2 more for now. Reading the theories and spoilers shows me how much more I have to learn.

I can understand how people would find it funny. I guess I formed such an emotional connection to Ash that I react negatively to anyone being mean to him or her. I feel protective, even though I know that Ash is an imaginary character I guess for some people would find it amusing to say mean things to a character in a game that they perhaps could not say in real life to someone.Love is my strength

I usually feel the same, but in this play through, I wanted to see what would change if I lost faith in ash. And when I was scrolling down to read it, I accidentally pressed the nice option. Ah, there's always next time.

Don't worry Christine. I've got plans to take a whole run to take the rude choices.
Not sure when I intend to do it.
Also, I used to feel the same about Ash, but this is my 8th run, at this point Ash is just a tool to get me more stories.

language warning...
Lmao, Johnny. Ash is a means to get you stories. If anyone, Roger is a tool...
Sorry- i'm sure this will be deleted.Last edited by ChristineMoon; 03-08-2017, 09:20 AM.

I am curious about what is your inspiration when you write Timecrest.Last edited by South; 03-08-2017, 01:31 PM.

We're inspired mostly by the characters. Most of the storylines and breakthroughs happen when we really emotionally find a way to get into the character's head and figure out what they would do or say.
We do watch a lot of movies & tv, read a lot of books, so we also take away what we like and didn't like out of all of those.

I would be glad to quote, but I can't figure out how to reply so that I can quote. I am a blind voiceover user. I'm sorry. I was responding to the person who was talking about Being really close to Ash at first, but after the eighth play of the game, that he was just a generator of stories. I really didn't mean any offense, and I certainly would quote if I could.Love is my strength

I want to ask, if nexutas allows you to connect to a human and nexutas ultimus to bring a human to Alyncia, then what is the use of Nexutas Magnus and Nexutas Melior Magnus ?

How much does Timecrest connect to the Internet? I know you need a connection for Morty and for cloud saving/ loading. Once you log in, does the game automatically go offline again? (In case someone has ever logged in from work, during lunch and break hour, of course...)
Also what font do you use for Waiting text? (Ash is exploring/ thinking/ timer counting down). It's beautiful.

cowbunny Thanks for your answer. Does the game stay connected to the Internet once it logs in, or does it go back off until the next time your press the Morty/ Save/ purchase button? I'm curious because I connect from work wifi sometimes, and would shut off wifi before opening the app.

It's only used for the duration of those specific actions that require it. Once you're done collecting from Morty, it doesn't need the Internet anymore. It will typically warn you if you try to do anything that needs Internet, and does not maintain a connection after that action is done.

Christine, I use an iPad. Not a phone.
